英诗汉译之六
早春随笔
易草木 译
我在树林中半坐半躺‘
聆听周遭万物声响,
心底乐滋滋的情绪,
突然变成满腹惆怅。
大自然沟通人的心灵,
它创造的美好万物使我神伤。
我的心情沉重万分,
想到了人与人的交往。
长春花编织着一个个花环,
穿过那樱草之间,绿荫地上。
我相信百花呼吸清新空气,
一定感到万分欢畅。
一只只鸟儿在我四周跳跃嬉戏,
它们的想法我不能估量:
但它们每个极小的动作,
都似乎显出神怡心旷。
发芽的嫩枝张开臂膀,
去拥抱那惠风和畅。
我思虑再三,应该相信,
其中必有乐趣无量。
假如这种信念是上天赐予,
假如它是大自然的神圣心肠,
难道我没有理由哀叹
人与人之间的交往?
LINES WRITTEN IN EARLY SPRING
I heard a thousand blended
notes
While in a grove I state
reclined,
In that sweet mood when
pleasant thoughts
Bring sad thoughts to the
mind.
To her fair works did
Nature link
The human soul that through
me ran;
And much it grieved my
heart to think
What man has made of man.
Through primrose tufts, in
that sweet bower,
The periwinkle trailed its
wreaths;
And 'tis my faith that
every flower
Enjoys the air it breathes.
The birds around me hopped
and played;
Their thoughts I cannot
measure: --
But the least motion that
they made,
It seemed a thrill of
pleasure.
The budding twigs spread
their fan,
To catch the breezy air;
And I must think, do all I
can,
That there was pleasure
there.
If this belief from heaven
be sent,
If such be Nature's holy
plan,
Have I not reason to lament
What man has made of man?
